How we help and give you peace of mind
Pharmacy Billing and Medication Reconciliation |
Our specialty is reviewing pharmacy charges and monthly statements for those living in long term care settings and are receiving their medications administered by staff. We provide billing and medication reviews for retail, mail order and VA consumers as well. After working in the pharmacy industry for 30 years, we have navigated thousands of cases to get consumers the best outcomes possible for the prescriptions that they needed. This is best done by performing a pharmacy billing review along with a medication reconciliation to ensure accuracy of day to day medications. This can also reduce waste and help prevent medication errors.

Educate and Empower |
We can review your pharmacy bill and formulary to help you understand what is covered and what is not covered along with your copay structure of your insurance plan. We will describe to you the differences between the multiple out of pocket expenses related to your individual plan, from premiums to deductibles and co-insurance to co-pays.
If needed, we can review your plan and compare it to other options during the open enrollment time or during other special circumstance opportunities. **We do not provide or sell health insurance, nor do we make recommendations on which health or prescription plans to choose. |
Review and Organization |
We offer one free pharmacy bill review and if we identify any errors or potential for savings we will offer our services to get them corrected and we even offer a program to continue monthly reviews or periodic review options. We can help to arrange payment plans for your pharmacy bill, help with Prior Authorizations and with filing an appeal if your insurance denies a claim or ends your coverage. Our expertise is understanding your prescription insurance, who we need to talk to and how to ask the right questions to get the answers we need.

Medication Reconciliation |
Medication reconciliation is a formal process for creating the most complete and accurate list possible of a patient’s current medications and comparing the list to those in the patient record or medication orders.
Making sure your medication list is accurate can prevent medication dispensing errors, help to consolidate and avoid unnecessary duplications of medications or prescriptions and can potentially reduce the number of medications needed and save you money. |

Seniors however, especially if alone, often require more diligence and care due to the aging process. Here we add more focus to Care Coordination, Safety and Communication
|
Care Coordination |
Older adults experience more frequent care transitions than younger patients due to having multiple medical conditions and higher medication use. Transitions of care is the time that a person is at most risk of falling victim to a medical error. We use our knowledge, communication, resources and organization to assess your health information to reduce this risk.
We will research, educate, and inform you, so you can make the best-informed decisions for your treatment options, providers, and levels of care needs. |
Safety and Communication |
Overall safety and working through common transitions later in life, is often a concern for many older adults and their families. This can also lead to potential conflicts and misunderstandings between family members and providers.
We work closely with our clients and those family members they wish to involve, ensuring that their voice is heard. This could be related to their independence, quality of life, treatment options, aging in place, transitioning to assisted living or end of life decisions. While working with older adults, we help reduce the pressure on their adult children who may be living too far away, busy managing their own families and children, or busy with work and a hectic schedule. It can be challenging for most families to take the emotion out of helping their aging family members through difficult transitions. An Independent Patient Advocate can be the most helpful resource to effectively manage these times to improve health, safety and rights. |
